Heat vs Eagles - 10 March 2012
Mar 31, 2012, 8:52 am

Friendly match vs Eagles at Henfield gave everyone who comes to training a chance to play a real match.

We had a fab turnout with 12 players on the bench and some playing their first match. Lewis, at 7yrs old, scored his first basket!

Eagles won the friendly - their first ever win and we look forward to meeting them in the league next season.

Worthing D&D vs Heat - 10 March 2012
Mar 31, 2012, 8:49 am

It was a great game and everyone fought hard to compete. We showed our usual awesome spirirt and everyone kept heads up and hustled to show the great improvements in their game. Our defence in particular is coming on and we are tracking our players much better. Need more work on movement on defence and offence.

Next league game next Saturday vs Cougars.

Heat vs SWRA Storm - Saturday 18th Feb
Feb 20, 2012, 10:07 pm

Heats recorded their fourth win with probably their best performance of the season. Due to the half term break a number of players were missing leaving Heat with only seven and meant we fielded probably the youngest player in the league at 6yrs old!

Heat had a great start scoring seven unanswered baskets with every starting player scoring. At the other end our defence was also much improved and our rebounding restricted Storms scoring opportunities.

We were able to play the younger players and who gained some valuable court time and everyone enjoyed the match. Heat recorded our highest league score at 39!

Congrats to the team!

Hawks vs Heat - Saturday 11th Feb
Feb 11, 2012, 6:54 pm

Travelling away to the league leaders was never going to be easy. Both teams had 7 players so it was a tiring match. Heat showed great improvement in passing and defence and showed glimpses of what we can do with more training!!

Tracking our players off the ball was a marked improvement and cut down on Hawks score. Our movement off the ball is also showing improvment - something we can aim to work on in training to help our offence.

Our team again gained praise for their team spirit and enthusiasm and we can be pleased with scoring 25, against a strong team.

Great match and look forward to next week at home vs Storm.

Hopefully see you there!

Henfield Heat vs Haywards Heath Eagles
Feb 5, 2012, 9:57 pm

Heat played a young Eagles team in a friendly match at Oathall School. It gave Ethan, Lewis and Oscar their chance to play in their first basketball match. Heat started well and took a lead, whilst Eagles were adjusting to the pace in their first ever game. Heat were able to field the bench and the game became more even.

The newer players did a great job (some great rebounds) and were able to maintain the lead and get a decent amount of the court time. We won the match and look forward to the return leg at ours in March.

Storm vs Heat - 4th December
Dec 10, 2011, 7:25 pm

Heats second win and went to the game confident of a win. Storm had a stronger team and tried really hard. It was a low scoring and difficult game with defence dominating both teams play. Heat, as always, gave their all and achieved their first league points. AWESOME!

Thanks to Mark for coaching - 100% winning record!

Heat U11 vs Storm - 12th November
Nov 13, 2011, 3:55 pm

Congratulations to the team on their first win! We had the full team attend and everyone played their part, which made the win that bit more satisfying!

In offence our passing and awareness was much improved and the scoring was spread across the team. We were able to take advantage of several steals and score the fast breaks. Players are beginning to pass ahead and it was nice to see players take as much pleasure in the assists as in the final glory of the basket! Our man to man defence is improving and players were chasing the rebound, all helping to contain the Storms points. Great work everyone and you definitely deserve the win for the fantastic team spirit.

Looking forward to our next match, on 4th December this time at the Storms home court.
